HISTORICAL MILESTONES
Founded in France in 2006, Ciel & Terre has always been a recognized professional in the photovoltaic systems industry. Before pursuing floating PV, we developed rooftop PV and ground-mounted PV systems in France and in La Reunion.
Year after year, our business developers, engineers, installers, and maintenance operators, have acquired and improved the skills of Ciel & Terre. Fortified by our experience, we have proved our expertise in project development, construction and installation and thus, extended our portfolio of services.
Our ability to innovate has led us to our current position as leaders of the floating PV market we initiated with a cumulative installed capacity of 620+ MWp.
2006
Ciel & Terre Foundation
Creation of Ciel & Terre company by Bernard Prouvost and Alexis Gaveau, two French-born entrepreneurs with a keen sense for renewable energies and convinced by the bright future ahead the solar energy.
Until 2013
Historical Business: Specialists in traditional solar PV mounting systems on roof and on ground
Installation of 55 medium and large-scale solar PV plants, either ground-mounted or on rooftops combined in France and French overseas territory.
Over the years, we have acquired a real skill in the integration of photovoltaic mounting systems, and extended our portfolio of services, supervising the project development, construction and installation as EPC contractor, and bringing financing solutions and O&M services.
2009
Arch’Helios® Technology
Development of Arch'Helios® technology to guarantee the utmost safety during the installation of solar panels on large rooftop PV systems.
Introduction of a system of 'roof leasing agreement' to convert any available parcel of rooftop into a photovoltaic plant, source of solar energy. An advantageous concept for both the backer and the investor.
2010
Hydrelio® Technology
Development of Hydrelio® technology, the first water-based PV concept to be industrialized as an alternative to traditional photovoltaic systems to respond to land space issues and the growing energy need.
In 2011, test of the first Hydrelio® prototype in France. Piolenc: a 15-kWp pilot on a former quarry lake located in the South of France.
2013
Floating PV adventure really started...
From 2013, full orientation of our business towards "floating solar" and cessation of our traditional rooftop systems activity.
Installation of the world first megawatt-scale floating PV project using Hydrelio® technology: Okegawa, Japan - 1.1 MWp.
