Japan sees potential in solar power

Japan believes that solar energy can provide for a part of the needs for energy. Thus, they are using floating solar farms, for which the context is favourable: there are many inland waterways usable, a strong business infrastructure and investment offers concerning renewable energy are attractive. Yamakura Dam in Chiba prefecture will welcome a solar power plant capable of providing enough electricity for nearly 5,000 households within one year. It will be the largest in Japan and the second-largest worldwide.
