Since 2011, we have focused our efforts on floating solar development by designing the first patented and industry standard technology, Hydrelio®. Aware of the tremendous potential of floating PV application worldwide, we opened the doors of this innovative market to offer an alternative to traditional solar panel systems on the ground.
As the market pioneer, we surrounded ourselves with experts to extend our business all around the world and develop our technical skills. The challenges we encountered over the years led us to a real knowledge of market mechanisms and technical advances supported – in addition to our technical partners – by a continuous investment in Research and Development.

With the mission to innovate and contribute to energy transition, Ciel & Terre is a dynamic and collaborative company based on core values shared by all ‘Ciel & Terrians’. Convinced that all the results of floating solar activity must benefit directly all its members, and as a trust and commitment gesture, the group offers its employees to become shareholders.
Since 2015, we have integrated a valuable shareholder, the Japanese company Tokyo Century Corporation (TCC). The group is one of the largest institutional investors worldwide and contributes to making our projects possible since it places solar energy at the centre of its concerns and a key target for its bankability and sustainability.

We have entered into collaboration with high-standard and qualified companies to help Ciel & Terre’s business development and to certify the performance and durability of our floating PV systems and solutions.
Bureau Veritas (BV) is an independent third party and accredited certification body. It has more than 30 years of experience in Marine and Offshore Mooring systems. Ciel & Terre has contracted BV to carry out a design evaluation of Hydrelio® technology and its associated mooring system.
Onera is the French Institute for Aerospatial Research. The Research center enables Ciel & Terre to qualify its products with regard to aerodynamic performance and wind resistance. Onera expertise supports us to propose floating solar plants in strong winds areas (typhoons and hurricanes).
Principia and Ciel & Terre collaborate so as to develop the company’s floating solar plants and its Hydrelio® technology in harsh environments, making the most of Principia’s experience in the field of renewable energy installations offshore.
BPI France is Ciel & Terre’s growth accelerator. It brings its expertise via coaching and helps the company develop through financial assistance and networking.
Certech is a Ciel & Terre’s partner for Research & Development, which can also provide analytical and technical services. Its polymer expertise permits us to offer long-lasting and sustainable solutions with Hydrelio® technology. The company aims to foster innovative solutions with the objective to develop processes or products compatible with sustainability.
Les Mines de Douai is a Research facility for materials science, proccesses science, fluid and structure mechanics and physical chemistry. It offers Ciel & Terre the opportunity to use labs for testing the resistance of our products and study complex material science phenomena.
Techsub is Ciel & Terre’s partner in charge of management and rehabilitation of polluted water areas. The company helps provide technical solutions to self-purify water bodies – with the ‘Aquago® ’ aerator technology – we recommend as an add-on to Hydrelio® floating PV plants to preserve water quality.
Corrodys is a corrosion specialist company, whose role is to work on the optimization of our products to resist any long-term alteration.
