BEN ACRE: 300 kWp

Ben Acre (Woodlane, Keens Farm, Park Farm):
3 x 100 kWp
Located in the county of Suffolk, England, UK, this project is composed of 3 separate plants, each having a capacity of 100 kWp. All the floating PV power plants are installed on irrigation reservoirs and equipped with Classic version of Hydrelio® technology. The systems support 1,200 (3 x 400) floating solar panels of 60 cells (250W REC standard modules).
For this project, Ciel & Terre supervised the engineering of the floating PV system and the anchorage. Our scope included:
- Supply of our Hydrelio® (made in France) and design of the floating platform
- Design, supply and installation of the anchoring solution
Ben Acre’s installations have been operational since December 2015 to generate green electricity to the local grid.
- Woodlane
With a capacity of 100 kWp, the total structure covers 2% of the pond’s water surface which the area is equal to 69,700 m² (6.9 ha). The floating platform is anchored on the banks of the pond, and the anchoring system has been designed to meet a maximum 5.5 m depth and a same water level variation (5.5 m, as the pond can be affected by drought).
- Keens Farm
Here, the total structure covers 3% of the pond’s water surface which the area is equal to 16,117 m² (1.6 ha). The floating platform is anchored on the banks of the pond, and the anchoring system has been designed to meet a maximum 7.9 m depth and a same water level variation (7.9 m, as the pond can be affected by drought).
- Park Farm
Here, the total structure covers 6% of the pond’s water surface which the area is equal to 41,040 m² (4.1 ha). The floating platform is anchored on the banks of the pond, and the anchoring system has been designed to meet a maximum 4.3 m depth and a same water level variation (4.3 m, as the pond can be affected by drought).
