HANAMIDAI: 1,153 kWp

Located in the prefecture of Saitama, Japan, this 1,153 kWp floating solar plant is installed on a rain water retention pond with an area of 14,700 m² (1.4 ha).

The platform is equipped with Classic version of Hydrelio® technology and supports 4,522 floating solar panels of 60 cells (255W KYOCERA standard modules). The total structure covers 86% of the water surface.

For this project, Ciel & Terre supervised the engineering of the floating PV system. Our scope included:

  • Supply of our Hydrelio® (made in Japan) and design of the floating platform
  • Design of the anchoring solution

Anchored at the bottom of the pond, the anchoring solution has been designed to meet a maximum 4.9 m depth and a same water level variation (4.9 m, as the pond can be affected by drought).

Hanamidai’s floating solar plant has been operational since August 2015 and generates green electricity to the local grid.
