LAS TÓRTOLAS: 85 kWp

Located in Chile, this 85 kWp floating solar pilot is installed on a mine lake with an area of 1,400,000 m² (140 ha).

The platform is equipped with Classic version of Hydrelio® technology and supports 256 floating solar panels of 72 cells (330W Jinko Solar standard modules). The total structure covers 0.01% of the water surface.

For this project, Ciel & Terre supervised the engineering of the floating PV system. Our scope included:

  • Supply of our Hydrelio® (made in the US) and design of the floating platform
  • Design of the anchoring solution

Anchored at the banks of the pond, the anchoring solution has been designed to meet a maximum 30 m depth while dealing with a 20-m water level variation.

Las Tórtolas’ floating solar plant has been operational since March 2019 and generates green electricity to the local grid.
