MAENO IKE: 848 kWp

Located in Ono city, in the prefecture of Hyogo, Japan, this 848 kWp floating PV plant is built on an irrigation reservoir with an area of 24,300 m² (2.4 ha).

The platform is equipped with Classic version of Hydrelio® technology and supports 3,392 floating solar panels of 60 cells (250W YINGLI standard modules). The total structure covers 40% of the water surface.

For this project, Ciel & Terre supervised the engineering of the floating PV system. Our scope included:

  • Supply of our Hydrelio® (made in the UK) and design of the floating platform
  • Design of the anchoring solution

Anchored at the bottom of the pond, the anchoring solution has been designed to meet a maximum 2 m depth and a same water level variation (2 m, as the pond can be affected by drought).

Maeno Ike’s floating solar plant has been operational since September 2014 and generates green electricity to the local grid.
