MARUOKA IKE: 710 kWp

Located in the prefecture of Mie, Japan, this 710 kWp floating solar construction is built on an irrigation reservoir with an area of 2.3 ha.

The platform is equipped with Hydrelio® aiR technology and supports 2,491 floating solar panels of 60 cells (285W KYOCERA modules). The total structure covers 29% of the water surface.

For this project, Ciel & Terre supervised the engineering of the floating PV system. Our scope included:

  • Project development
  • Supply of our Hydrelio® (made in Japan) and design of the floating platform
  • Design of the anchoring solution
  • Construction & Procurement
  • Financing
  • O&M

Anchored at the bottom of the pond, the anchoring solution has been designed to meet a maximum 5 m depth and a same water level variation (5 m).

Maruoka Ike floating solar installation has been operational since Q4 2021 and generates green electricity to the local grid.
