O CHANG: 495 kWp

Located in the district of Cheongwon, South Korea, this 495 kWp floating solar plant is installed on a dam reservoir with an area of 491,200 m² (49 ha).
The platform is equipped with Classic version of Hydrelio® technology and supports 1,978 floating solar panels of 60 cells (250W HANWHA standard modules). The total structure covers 1% of the water surface.
For this project, Ciel & Terre supervised the engineering of the floating PV system. Our scope included:
- Supply of our Hydrelio® (made in France) and design of the floating platform
- Design of the anchoring solution
Anchored at the bottom of the pond, the anchoring solution has been designed to meet a maximum 13.8 m depth while dealing with a 11.3-m water level variation.
O Chang’s floating solar plant has been operational since February 2015, making this one the first floatovoltaic project installed in South Korea and on a dam simultaneously, and generates green electricity to the local grid.
