Located in Vaucluse, France, this 15 kWp floating solar plant installed on a quarry lake with an area of 370,000 m² (37 ha).

The platform is equipped with the first prototype of Hydrelio® technology and supports 64 floating solar panels of 60 cells (230 and 235W GESOLAR standard modules). The total structure covers 0.04% of the water surface.

For this project, Ciel & Terre supervised the project development and the engineering of the floating PV structure and the anchorage. Our scope included:

  • Management of project development
  • Financing of the project
  • Supply of our Hydrelio® (made in France) and design of the floating platform
  • Design, supply and installation of the anchoring solution
  • Operation and maintenance of the farm

Anchored at the bottom of the pond, the anchoring solution has been designed to meet a maximum 11.8 m depth and deal with a 5 m water level variation.

As the first floating PV pilot, Piolenc’s floating solar plant has been installed on February 2011.
