POLYBELL: 471 kWp

Located in the county of South Yorkshire, England, UK, this 471 kWp floating solar plant is implemented on an irrigation reservoir with an area of 47,343 m² (4.7 ha).
The platform is equipped with Classic version of Hydrelio® technology and supports 1,848 floating solar panels of 60 cells (255W REC standard modules). The total structure covers 11% of the water surface.
For this project and the first time, Ciel & Terre enrolled as an EPC contractor, supervising the engineering, procurement and construction of all the floating PV structure and the anchorage. Our scope included:
- Supply of our Hydrelio® (made in France) and design of the floating platform
- Design, supply and installation of the anchoring solution
- Design of the electrical equipment
Anchored at the banks of the pond, the anchoring solution has been designed to meet a maximum 3.9 m depth and a same water level variation (3.9 m, as the pond can be affected by drought).
Polybell’s floating solar panels have been operational since December 2015 and generate green electricity to the local grid.
