SHEEPLANDS FARM: 200 kWp

Located in Berkshire (England, UK), this 200 kWp floating solar plant is installed on an irrigation reservoir with an area of 14,900 m² (1.4 ha).
The platform is equipped with Classic version of Hydrelio® technology and supports 800 modules of 60 cells (250W TRINA standard modules). The total structure covers 14% of the water surface.
For this project, Ciel & Terre supervised the engineering of the floating PV system and the anchorage. Our scope included:
- Supply of our Hydrelio® (made in France) and design of the floating platform
- Design and supply of the anchoring solution
Anchored at the bottom of the pond, the anchoring solution has been designed to meet a maximum 6.1 m depth and a same water level variation (6.1 m, as the pond can be affected by drought).
Sheepland’s floating solar plant has been operational since September 2014 and generates green electricity self-consumed on site to power the reservoir’s pumps for the farm irrigation and thus enables the facility to increase its energy independence without using up valuable land space.
