SUGU 1: 4,023 kWp

Located in Tainan, Taiwan, this 4,023 kWp floating solar plant installed on an industrial pond with an area of 88,142 m² (8.8 ha).

The platform is equipped with Classic version of Hydrelio® technology and supports 13,410 floating solar panels of 60 cells (300W RITEK standard modules). The total structure covers 15% of the water surface.

For this project, Ciel & Terre operated as an IPP (Independent Power Producer) and project developer, supervising all the project development, and the engineering and construction of the floating PV structure and the anchorage. Our scope included:

  • Management of project development
  • Financing of the project
  • Supply of our Hydrelio® (made in Taiwan) and design of the floating platform
  • Design, supply and installation of the anchoring solution
  • Operation and maintenance of the farm

Installed with a hybrid anchoring system (banks and bottom of the pond), the anchoring solution has been designed to meet a maximum 14.0 m depth while dealing with a 5-m water level variation.

Sugu 1’s floating solar plant has been operational since December 2018 and generates green electricity to the local grid. This is the 2nd project Ciel & Terre developed as an IPP in Taiwan.
